Effect/Function: Resize Function

Most of the e-mail providers only allow a couple of MB attached to the electronic letters. Giants like Yahoo, Gmail or AOL have expanded the attachment size to a couple of tenths of MB or a bit more, but sending large files through e-mail is still slow and dull – it could take as much as two minutes to upload an attachment of 20 MB. What if the sender has a slower internet connection? Then sending an e-mail could take even longer. The solution is to resize the picture.

Statistics show that, besides electronic letters and links to different sites and files, the most commonly e-mailed files are photos. Mobiles, iPods, Smart Phones, cameras, they all make very, very large photos. Large both in file size and in resolution (the number of pixels per surface unit). Your solution is to resize the pictures.

If you want to send professional pictures, like illustrations to printed materials, photo collections, personal albums, original size pictures, you can upload them on sites that offer large files transfer. You have to resize those pictures if you just want to send them to a friend by e-mail.

There is another case in which you need to resize the images: when you want to publish them on your Facebook wall, or when they have to fit into a site.

In such situations, you absolutely need Easy Photo Effects. The resize function allows you to scale down your photos, it has a few presets for quick results, or you can manually change the slider to the desired size. The settings window shows you the current pixel size and the new pixel resize.

After having chosen a size in the settings window, confirm your changes by pressing “Ok” and press the “Resize” button, then save your picture under a different name then the original.
