Effect/Function: Tilt Shift Effect
Tilt Shift, also known as miniature faking, makes large objects look like toys. One of the things the tilt shift effect in Easy Photo Effects does is apply a gradiental blur above and below a certain area, which is called the 'open area'. You can change the position and size of this area in the settings. You probably need to try different settings to get it right, just apply the effect by pressing the "Tilt Shift" button, adjust the settings, reset the image and re-apply the effect until your satisfied.
To achieve the best results you may want to take pictures of the object(s) from a certain angle as displayed in the following image.
TIP: If you're going to use the converted images on the internet and not for print you will get better results by resizing them before applying the tilt shift effect, just click on "Website/internet" or "Half size" in the resize settings press "Resize" and save the smaller image. Then re-open that image and use it for the tilt shift effect.
- Focus point: Position the slider roughly at the point where your target object is displayed in the image.
- Open area: If your object is large make this area bigger by moving the slider to the right.
The image above was made using the tilt shift and the movie effect.
